We love our huge statues and new action figures, but sometimes it’s the smallest piece that makes us smile the most. Today, we’re going to look at one of those: the keychains. These fun little pieces are easy to miss if you aren’t looking. My favorite is the Iron Man 3 light up Arc Reactor key chain by Monogram coming out in July. Each Monogram pewter keychain is a nicely detailed piece, and they have a quality weight to them as well. I have definitely stopped throwing my keys across the parking lot since I added the Batman Logo key chain to the mix. In the end any collectible is a tangible reminder of the fictional properties we love so much. Whether it is Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Punisher, Avengers, Wonder Woman, or The Nightmare Before Christmas-these little reminders of our favorite characters are an inexpensive and enjoyable investment.
The Tetris light by Paladone is such a cool product. We had these in stock last year before Christmas, and it was hard to keep them in stock. Good news–these will be back in stock around the end of June! You can configure this light in many different ways, and the pieces light up when they are touching the rest of the lamp. Once you remove the piece, it turns off! Check out our short demo, and Paladone’s fun promo. You can reserve one today on our site!
When we were at Toy Fair, we came across these Mimobot USB Flash drives, and we really thought they were a cool idea. You need to share some pictures or a document from a flash drive?Just pull out your Dark Knight Rises Batman USB drive, and you can share your document and start an interesting conversation about your favorite character. We went with the 8GB size for our first order featuring the Dark Knight Rises Batman, Catwoman, Robin, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, R2D2, Stormtrooper, Einstein, and Adventure Time Finn! Two interesting variations happen with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper.
Remove Darth Vader’s helmet to see which version you received! There is a 1 in 6 chance that you will receive the Return of the Jedi version with the pale, scarred face of Darth Vader. For the Stormtrooper, you remove the helmet, and find out if you have Luke Skywalker or Han Solo under the helmet. There is a 50/50 chance between each one.
Another cool item that we received is along the same lines, but it is a Chewbacca microSD card reader. This is in the upper right of the first picture. You can also see better pictures on our site. The card reader comes with a keychain, flip-out USB port and an LED indicator.
We hope that you all like these items as much as we do. We’re hoping to carry more of these in the future, and we do have a few others up for pre-order on our site. These are great gifts for the Star Wars and DC fans that you know!
With the season 3 premiere coming on March 31, and our Dark Horse shipment arriving today, it seemed like a good time to spotlight some of the great Game of Thrones products that are hitting shelves. One of my favorite items from Toy Fair is the Jon Snow and Ghost statue by Dark Horse. (You can see a bigger picture on our Facebook page.) The stock image is OK, but the statue in a lighted display case was pretty impressive! Unfortunately, this statue won’t arrive until approximately July. There are several other statues, and Funko has the POP series 1 already out with Series 2 coming soon.
There is a lot more to Game of Thrones collectibles, though, than just statues and figures. There are many different items for each noble house, such as mugs, pins, steins, plush pillows, and more. Of course, there is the iconic throne replica, which originally was made as a limited edition 14″ replica. It now comes in a 7″ version as well. Which collectibles do you like the most, and what are you looking forward to about the upcoming season?
So this one may not be available, but I really like the idea. The lines clearing definitely adds a different element to the lamp. There is one Tetris lamp on the market, and it is the constructible Tetris light from Paladone. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check it out.
I have the power! Lately it seems there have been a lot of new MOTU products being announced. As a child of the 80’s this really is exciting to me. I remember watching He-Man and playing with the figures growing up. When I got the last product info, I actually went to YouTube and looked up the opening video for the He-Man cartoon. Those old cartoons were classic! So Funko has announced a series of Funko POP figures featuring He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra, Spikor, and Hordak. These should arrive in May. We have already received the Wacky Wobbler bobble heads for Masters of the Universe, and that set included HeMan, Skeletor, Orko, and Beast Man. I usually prefer the bobble heads, but I really like the Pop figures for this line, especially Skeletor. If you like little novelties, there is also a Power Sword letter opener and a Castle Grayskull Business Card Holder that actually go together for a cool desk set. We’d love to hear your thoughts on these, or any fun MOTU memories you have!
It’s always fun to play with some toys that remind us of the classics–maybe this shows my age, but I’m OK with that. We just got these Pac-Man R/C Racers in stock, and they are fun. Each Pac-Man Racer moves in 4 directions and are controlled by an IR controller. I think the sound effects that come from the Pac-Man game are what really put this over the top. It was definitely a good race between Blinky and Pac-Man. These racers are sold separately, made by Paladone, and require 5xAAA batteries. What is your favorite vintage video game toy/novelty?
