We have been working with a lot more CGC graded books recently. I know we had a previous post that gave some of the basics of CGC grading, so make sure to check it out if you missed it. We had gotten probably 50 or so comics graded in the past, and they were mainly in the 9.4 to 9.6 range with a few 9.8, but these were primarily older comics that had some age to them…
We had been happy with our prior results, and had submitted more for grading, but we were starting to wonder what it took to get a 9.9 or a 10. Waiting for the results is always interesting, as you wonder if you saw everything about the book before you submitted it. What grade will we get? Was there a small crease or spot that we somehow overlooked? When we got the results of our last submissions, we were thrilled to find out that we had finally gotten a 9.9! So now that we have gotten that, maybe we can get a 10 one of these days. In the meantime, hopefully we’ll get more 9.9s to share with other collectors out there.
The new arrivals from this latest batch include all covers for The Walking Dead #100, Thief of Thieves #6, Revival #1, and many more! We’d love to hear your thoughts on these graded comics or your own CGC story!
